At Dalehead Veterinary Group Ltd we hold data or information about you and your animals in order to provide the veterinary services requested by you as our client. Data protection regulations apply only to data about humans; they do not apply to data about animals.

 

DATA WE HOLD ABOUT YOU

Your name and address, contact telephone numbers and email addresses. We record which products and services we have supplied, how much you have been charged and the method and value of payments that you make. We also record clinical notes relating to your animals and notes to help us manage your account.

 

WHAT WE USE THIS DATA FOR

  • To contact you regarding your animal’s health and wellbeing
  • To send treatment reminders, such as vaccination reminders
  • To send you information that we believe you may find useful such as our newsletters and invitations to client meetings
  • To invoice you as per our terms and conditions
  • As part of the maintenance and back up procedure for our Practice Management system Teleos
  • For online booking facilities via Vetstoria

We do not share your information with any third parties other than those specifically related to the veterinary care of your animals. These might include:

  • Veterinary Laboratories               
  • Disease surveillance centres such as the Animal and Plant Health Agency             
  • Insurance Companies                   
  • Referral Hospitals
  • Microchipping databases
  • Data analysis companies such as Interherd or VetImpress in order to collate and process data to assist you with your Herd Health or Flock Health Planning

Exceptions to this would be:

  • If you have outstanding debt with us, we may pass your information to an external debt collection company so that they can collect the balance due
  • If we are required to do so by law enforcement or regulatory authorities

The companies that we share your information with are all bound by the same data protection laws and send us documentation to state that they are compliant with these regulations and will not be using your data for anything other than its intended use.

We do not sell your data to anyone.

 

HOW WE USE TEXT MESSAGING AND EMAILING

We may send treatment reminders via text message and newsletters via email.

We do not require your ‘explicit’ consent to send out treatment reminders, these form a legitimate interest in that they are for the welfare of your animal.

Our newsletters are classed as information, advising on best practise and keeping you informed of any health issues which might affect your animal.

Our website uses cookies to for the essential functionality of the site only. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
